Where’s my wallhack!?!?
As some of you may know, Chris’ TF2 configs provide a significantly better performance than m0re’s old configs that everyone used at one point.
The only gripe for me is that Chris has decided to remove player model shadows in maxframes and highframes. This is not good, because shadows are a gameplay element. Team Fortress 2 has a buggy way of displaying shadows, which makes it sometimes possible to see people through walls and ceilings. If you turn off your shadows, you put yourself to a disadvantage. This disadvantage is much greater than the Frames Per Second loss that comes with turning the shadows on.
You can get the shadows back by changing to these values in the configs:
mat_shadowstate "1"
r_shadowmaxrendered "128"
r_shadowrendertotexture "1"
r_shadows "1"
Edit:
There’s no point in r_shadowmaxrendered “128″, just set it to 11, player shadows take priority over dynamic and static elements anyway. -Chris
